Celebrate your journey

B&W Fine Art Campaign

Have you always wanted to do a boudoir shoot but didn’t click with the typical boudoir style?

I have always thought boudoir images can be very empowering. I started doing photoshoots in this genre, however, “traditional” boudoir style didn’t match the way I wanted to photograph my clients. Don’t get me wrong, I think the traditional style is beautiful and I see why people like it, but I always felt those photos were “for someone else” and not “for the person I’m photographing.” My photos have always been for the subject I photograph. I want that to be true in my boudoir shoots too, while incorporating my love for timeless style. The result is nontraditional boudoir images that are a collaboration between photographer and subject. These are meant to be a gift for you and yourself years from now.

Everyone deserves to be celebrated for exactly who they are

Why this campaign?

In the age of social media filters, photoshop, AI photo editing, and fast-food-like content, the art of celebrating our journey through images is getting lost. Instead of making everyone look perfect (and generic) in Photoshop, I love to create images that look authentic, stand the test of time, and celebrate my subjects as unique individuals. In this campaign, I wanted to create a space that is not about perfectly tailored photos, but that honors you and becomes a beautiful memory for you. By taking color and statement outfits out of the image, I hope these images will focus more on who you are as a person.

“Kenji has a timeless yet fresh approach to lighting and composition that is inspiring to experience. He is also a dream to work with! Kenji was incredibly professional, personable and made me feel comfortable branching out into artistic portraiture without clothing for the first time. I’ve drawn nude models for years in my art practice but discovered that being in the art was incredibly empowering and relaxing due to his approach in the studio. I’m incredibly honored to be a part of his evolution and endlessly creative take on portraiture.” - Jessilyn
